Due To Power Failures Sat. Feb 27th Tupelo Music Hall Show Has Been Cancelled

We are sorry to report that tonight's (Saturday 2/27/10) show at Tupelo Music Hall has been CANCELLED.

There is still no power in the Londonderry, NH area and the venue has not been able to get the emergency generator to run emergency lights, bathrooms, etc., so legally Tupelo Music Hall is not allowed to open for business.

The Friday Feb 26th and Saturday Feb 27th shows will be rescheduled in the spring. Stay tuned to carbonleaf.com for further details on rescheduled dates and ticket info and we will let you know any information as soon as its decided.

We are currently driving across Illinois on our way to Cleveland...

Screw Forbes Magazine - Cleveland Rocks!!

We just fired up Sirius Boneyard and Buford is now air drumming with Twizzlers to Metallica's "Master Of Puppets." Nothing like a stop at the TA Truckstop for some quality snacks.

The tour is off to a great start - Suzanna Choffel from Austin, TX is not only opening the shows, but is also brave enough (or possibly suffering from anosmia!) to ride in the van with us. She has been kind enough to let us sit in with her on her song "Hey Mister" and has also been jumping up to help us with "Let Your Troubles Roll By." Suzanna is an amazing songwriter and phenomenal singer plus, she has an awesome Epiphone Wildcat that I'm totally going to steal! You can check her out atwww.suzannachoffel.com.

One of the highlights of the week was selling out Blueberry Hill in St. Louis! We love playing there, but I think that we should make it our collective goal to play the Pageant next time. In order to do that we need all of our incredible St. Louis fans to help spread the word about Carbon Leaf. You are the radio! We can do this!

Thanks for everyone that has toughed out the rough weather to come to the shows this week. Carbon Leaf will keep you warm in the winter!! Everybody be careful and drive safely out there!

Thanks for meetin' us halfway, out there on The Road...

The 2 months were fantastic, because of YOU. Otherwise, it would have just been another string of rehearsals, stretched out over miles and miles.

Writing the music is for the artist, but performing it is for the person that shows up. The only thing there really is in that darkened room, a band and people who like their music. Everything else is just incidental.

Whats the point in touring if no one shows? If a group performs in a club and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?

Bu, Jason, and Carter drove us home through the night from Maine on Sunday, and this was waiting in my pile of mail back in Virginia. As loopy as everyone was - as tired of being around each other in a van for 9 weeks - it made me want to get back out there and do it all again.

An Open Letter From Barry...

Hey everyone, Barry here. The tour is going great, thanks to all of you for making EVERY night of the week memorable. I'm enjoying the drives. Long drive yesterday Iowa to Denver, about 12 hours. Passed some great stuff....1000's of cattle, hundreds of windmills, miles of young corn, sunset to the west and rain storm to the east. Check the pix and blogs on the site as we roll along.
